Presidential Award For Excellence

GHS Physics Teacher Mr. Joe Mancino has been honored with a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). This prestigious national recognition is a testament to Mr. Mancino’s unwavering dedication to his students and the teaching craft. Receiving this award is no small feat. It is one of the highest honors a mathematics or science teacher can achieve.


Town Council Sets Final Budget

The Glastonbury Town Council voted on March 19, 2025, to reduce next year's school budget by $696,098. The Board of Education plans to vote on what budget lines to adjust in early April. The BOE Budget webpage provides budget documents and additional information on the budget process. 


Kaleidoscope of Languages and Cultures

Student Art Show and Reception

We are pleased to partner with Welles-Turner Memorial Library (WTML) to celebrate student art. Artwork  featuring K-12 school calendar art and grade 6 ceramic bowls will be on display at the WTML through April 29, 2025. 


GHS Girls Indoor Track Team Wins State Championships

The Glastonbury High School Girls Indoor Track Team won their 5th straight CIAC Class LL State Championship. This is their 11th title. They were recognized at the Board of Education meeting on March 10.

Summer Enrichment Camps

Camp Registration is OPEN.

Hoops for Heart

The Smith Middle School community raised $13,000 for the American Heart Association with our Hoops for Heart event. 

We are the #1 fundraiser for CT middle schools

SMS students who participated attended a staff versus students basketball game on a recent Friday afternoon.

GHS Strength & Conditioning Center

Construction of the GHS Strength and Conditioning Center began during the summer.  The construction area near the junior parking lot is fenced off to ensure safety. 


2024-2025 Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to  Naubuc Elementary School Kindergarten Teacher Mrs. Carol Lemieux, the Glastonbury Public Schools 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year.  For 26 years Mrs. Lemieux has captivated young students with her positive, calm, and joyous demeanor and her early childhood teaching expertise. 

Mrs. Lemieux was also recently selected as a CT State Teacher of the Year Semifinalist! Eight of the last ten Glastonbury Public Schools Teachers of the Year have been selected as state semifinalists.

Town residents who are not Glastonbury Public Schools parents, guardians, or staff members are invited to join our district's “community group” on the ParentSquare app. Sign up to receive one or two notices a month on school initiatives, the budget, and invitations to public events.  We also look forward to sharing stories of student and staff successes.
