BOE Celebrates GHS VOICES
The BOE recently recognized the GHS VOICES committee for their work improving the culture and climate at Glastonbury High School. VOICES stands for Vision of Inclusivity, Community, and Equity in our School. The committee includes GHS students, faculty, and staff members.
Board of Finance Recommends Reduction to Education Budget
The Board of Finance has recommended a $650,000 reduction to the Board of Education approved budget for next school year. During March, the Town Council will discuss and vote on the final education budget. The BOE Budget page includes budget documents and additional information on the budget process.
Kindergarten Registration

Celebrating School Calendar Art
The Board of Education recently celebrated the student artists who contributed to this year's school district calendar. Their work is featured on the Art Department website.
GHS Girls Indoor Track Team Wins State Championships
The Glastonbury High School Girls Indoor Track Team won their 5th straight CIAC Class LL State Championship. This is their 11th title.

Smith Middle School
National Unified Champion School
Smith Middle School was recognized by the Special Olympics as a National Unified Champion School.
They were honored for implementing inclusive sports with inclusive youth leadership opportunities, and for whole school engagement. The school will hold this distinction for five years.

GHS Strength & Conditioning Center
Construction of the GHS Strength and Conditioning Center began during the summer. The construction area near the junior parking lot is fenced off to ensure safety.
2024-2025 Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Naubuc Elementary School Kindergarten Teacher Mrs. Carol Lemieux, the Glastonbury Public Schools 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year. For 26 years Mrs. Lemieux has captivated young students with her positive, calm, and joyous demeanor and her early childhood teaching expertise.
Mrs. Lemieux was also recently selected as a CT State Teacher of the Year Semifinalist! Eight of the last ten Glastonbury Public Schools Teachers of the Year have been selected as state semifinalists.

Town residents who are not Glastonbury Public Schools parents, guardians, or staff members are invited to join our district's “community group” on the ParentSquare app. Sign up to receive one or two notices a month on school initiatives, the budget, and invitations to public events. We also look forward to sharing stories of student and staff successes.
