2025-2026 Budget Workshops
Glastonbury citizens are encouraged to attend the Board of Education’s upcoming budget workshops and learn about next year's budget. Budget workshops will be held on January 6 and 8 at 6:00 pm.
During the workshops, the Superintendent will present his proposed 2025-2026 school budget. The Board will then review the budget in detail, request further information, and discuss the budget. The Board plans to vote on the education budget at their January 13, 2024 meeting at 7 pm.
Artist Reception
Our young artists Calendar Art Reception will be held on January 27, 2025 at 6:30 pm in the Upper Level of the Town Hall.
The exhibit will also be on display for the public to enjoy at the Welles-Turner Memorial Library in March. For more information visit Calendar Art 2024-2025.
Smith Middle School
National Unified Champion School
Smith Middle School was recognized by the Special Olympics as a National Unified Champion School.
They were honored for implementing inclusive sports with inclusive youth leadership opportunities, and for whole school engagement. The school will hold this distinction for five years.

SMS Holiday Tour
Talented musicians from Smith Middle School performed for students at Buttonball Lane Elementary School, and seniors at the Riverfront Community Center. This is part of their annual holiday tour that brings joy to the community.

GHS Strength & Conditioning Center
Construction of the GHS Strength and Conditioning Center began during the summer. The construction area near the junior parking lot is fenced off to ensure safety. We are hopeful that the center will be ready for student use by late January 2025.

2024-2025 Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Naubuc Elementary School Kindergarten Teacher Mrs. Carol Lemieux, the Glastonbury Public Schools 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year. For 26 years Mrs. Lemieux has captivated young students with her positive, calm, and joyous demeanor and her early childhood teaching expertise.
Mrs. Lemieux was also recently selected as a CT State Teacher of the Year Semifinalist! Eight of the last ten Glastonbury Public Schools Teachers of the Year have been selected as state semifinalists.

Town residents who are not Glastonbury Public Schools parents, guardians, or staff members are invited to join our district's “community group” on the ParentSquare app. Sign up to receive one or two notices a month on school initiatives, the budget, and invitations to public events. We also look forward to sharing stories of student and staff successes.
